Dear OCES Parents,

Welcome to Oglethorpe County Elementary School where we put “Children First.”  As educators, parents and community friends, we need to work together to provide every child with the best education possible. Our personal commitments to quality education will prepare and shape our children for the future in our global society. We love to have parents present in our building, so, please know that you are always welcome at Oglethorpe County Elementary School.

If you have questions concerning school, please feel free to call the school office. Our number is (706)743-8750.  You can also reach me by email at [email protected].

I am excited to welcome you back to school for the 2017-2018 year at Oglethorpe County Elementary School!  We are committed to establishing a strong academic foundation that will follow your children through graduation.

As assistant principal, it is important to me that everyone who steps through the doors of OCES--staff, students, parents, and visitors--are happy and excited to be here!   A positive attitude enables us to all meet the challenges of academic excellence in a fun, nurturing, and supportive environment.  We want students to believe they can succeed and give them many opportunities to be successful.

If you are not currently a member of our P.T.O., please join today and become an active member.  Our P.T.O. is active in the support of our students and teachers.  We have an outstanding faculty and staff at OCES that works relentlessly to ensure that all of our students succeed.  Our teachers are dedicated, nurturing, and highly-qualified individuals who deliver standards-based instruction through best practices in education.  I encourage you to stay in contact with your child’s teacher about how they are progressing academically and behaviorally.

I am here to support you and your student during your time at Oglethorpe County Elementary School.  Remember, my door is always open.  I look forward to connecting with you throughout the year.

Dr. Tonia Willis

Welcome, OCES Families!  I am looking forward to working with you and your child this year to help make this a successful school year.   As counselor, I am committed to providing support to you and your student in an effort to help your student be successful – socially, emotionally, and academically.

My goals this year include providing classroom guidance lessons, as well as small group and individual counseling.  Each lesson will be designed to help promote academic, career, and personal/social development.

As partners in your child’s education, I encourage all of our parents/guardians to be involved at school.  A great way to accomplish this is to become a mentor or a Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) volunteer.  If you are willing to mentor a student or would like to learn more about the Watch D.O.G.S. program, please contact me for more information.

I look forward to getting to know you and participating in the success of your child’s education this year.  Please do not hesitate to contact me if I can be of any assistance.
